Set in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland

Join us for this weekend retreat where we will lift our voices and connect our hearts in

SONG AND SOUND!

Come and connect with old friends and new!

Heartsong has endured the pandemic and risen from the ashes!

Imogen & Suze can’t make it this year (sad face!) but I reeeeally wanted to gather and sing with you all!

So this year, for something new, we’ll be blessed with some amazing Special Guests!

HeartSong was born…

…. from a spark of inspiration from Kate, who wanted to bring together two of her great loves….singing camps and yoga retreats. Our intention is to bring you the best of both of these worlds to create a space where we can all retreat from the ‘busi-ness’ of our lives, take time to dive into our inner world, share joy and connection with each other and co-create something profound. We will move, stretch, breathe, sing, clap, make noise and be together in silence.
In this three day-retreat you will have the opportunity to experience the joy, unity and freedom that singing in harmony with many other voices can bring. Our facilitators are passionate about sharing movement and harmony and each will offer their particular expertise and magic over the course of the weekend!

In this retreat we will:

~  Find stillness with gentle Morning Yoga & Meditation
~  Experience the bliss of Chanting
~  Receive the gift of Sound Healing
~  Renew your life force with Chi Gung
~  Explore joyful rhythms in the Drumming Circle
~  Sing your hearts song with daily Singing in Harmony
~  Get melodious in the Ukulele Workshop
~  Share your talents and strut your stuff with Cabaret
~  Connect and Share with kindred spirits old and new
~  Take time out to be still and Fill your Cup
Nourish Your Body with delicious meals
~  Walk the land and Discover Nature
~  Enjoy an optional Zenthai Shiatsu Treatment

All inclusive of food & dorm accommodation.  Our dorms are not too crowded at max 8 people and each has a private deck AND an ensuite!

The main hall has an open fire place, we have a creek and a pool to swim in and the location is stunning!

Here’s what some past participants have had to say about HeartSong….

“My intention was to openly receive my soul song. I’ve never been to something like this before – blew my mind, vocal chords and heart wide open, faced some fears and walked away vibrating on a new frequency – happy to sing to the world my new soul song. Much Arohanui.” Claire, Qld.

“I came to sing with a group of women not realising that I would leave with life changing tools, be uplifted, inspired and in awe of the amazing women who put this ‘must do’ event together, love your work.” Kerrie, Qld.

And some others….

“This weekend was much appreciated and needed. It was a space of deep care, joy, laughter and sharing the heart. Now at the end, feeling rejuvenated, heart full of joy, feeling reconnected with the self. Deeply grateful to all the gorgeous women who put it together and shared in the sacred space.” Tara, Qld

Meet Kate….!

Kate B

Kate B has been a singer for as long as she can remember and first picked up the guitar when she was 14.  She has done everything musical short of playing in an orchestra… from folk to blues and cafes to weddings and community choirs.  Her journey has more recently carried her back to the world of chanting, mantra and kirtan, revisiting an old passion in the joy of creating uplifting sound with others.  Since this reconnection, the Ukelele and Celtic Harp have found their way into the musical landscape, supporting the original songs which seem to flow effortlessly now, fuelled by her true inspiration….  That is: sharing her love of voice and song to create a musical sanctuary, to connect us with others, provide refuge from the busi-ness of our everyday lives, quieten the mind and leave us with a deep sense of peace & joy.
Kate is also a Yoga Chi Gung teacher and Zenthai Shiatsu Therapist & Facilitator with a background in martial arts and dance. With two decades experience teaching, she loves sharing these healing arts with the community through treatments, classes and workshops, with the vision that through music and healing touch we can all experience greater wellbeing in our lives.

…and meet our special guests!

Marianna

I fall in love with the sound of African drums about 20 years ago and I am actively learning and sharpening my skills ever since mainly from Elliott Orr a well-know and highly skilled percussionist.

To further my skills, in the past 10 years, I also travel to Guinea, West Africa, where I spend at least a month every year to immerse in the
culture of drumming and dancing and to learn from the masters Griot Epizo Bangoura and Sibo Bangoura and many other great African teachers.

Currently I teach African drumming and dancing at the Hello Africa studio in Brisbane, and I am also involved in helping community and disability groups with African drumming.

My passion is to spread the love through rhythm and movement, and to create communities through drumming and dancing.

Eileen Hartley

Born 1958, Albury, NSW, Australia, where I went to school, began working in a bank, met my husband and had three children. At 30 we moved to West Wyalong, NSW, for 6 years, where I worked as a Home Care Aide to the the elderly. A move to my current home of Morayfield Queensland, where I found and fell in love with yoga.
It began with yoga at home with yoga books and videos borrowed from the library (this was before internet and Google). I knew this was the answer for a way to heal my body and so joined a local gym and experienced my first yoga class. For 5 years I attended 4-5 classes a week.
My first teacher, Jo Moore of Yoga Rythyms, encouraged me to enter teacher training with her. So I quit my job, as a cleaner and began this incredible journey of self-discovery in January of 2007. As soon as I graduated, I began sharing the benefits I had experienced to others, by teaching at a couple of gyms and filling in for other teachers as often as I could.
Roll on to 2022, I teach 6 regular classes a week.
My classes are a mix of movement, mindfullness, breath awareness and stillness. I offer options because I remember at time when I couldn’t do some poses, and my wish is to make yoga available to others too.
