Here’s what some past participants have had to say about HeartSong….
“As a five time attendee of HeartSong, I offer gratitude and admiration to Kate B and her wonderful team for always going the extra mile to be inclusive, caring and thoughtful for a very diverse group of women. I have attended many retreats and also many singing workshops, and find that HeartSong, without a doubt, offers the best of both 🙏💞” Su, Qld.
“I came to sing with a group of women not realising that I would leave with life changing tools, be uplifted, inspired and in awe of the amazing women who put this ‘must do’ event together, love your work.” Kerrie, Qld.
And some others….
“My Heartsong experience was the most surprising gift in the middle of some ordinary months.. You can try anything when you feel you are in safe hands, guided by intuitive teachers. Voices of all quality made the most amazing sounds and harmonies together. The backdrop to our chants was birdsong in the stunning hinterland valley. My cup is full and I thank Kate B and her amazing crew for the whole shebang!!” Cathy, Qld
“Heartsong was amazing, even more than I thought it would be, there are no words to describe how truly uplifting it is to just spend 3 days immersed in music, laughter and really wonderful company. Really melts away any worldly worries or anxiety and the effect is lasting, doesn’t just disappear when you go home. Can not wait for next year!” Sage, Qld
Meet Kate….!
Kate B
Kate B has been a singer for as long as she can remember and first picked up the guitar when she was 14. She has done everything musical short of playing in an orchestra… from folk to blues and cafes to weddings and community choirs. Her journey has more recently carried her back to the world of chanting, mantra and kirtan, revisiting an old passion in the joy of creating uplifting sound with others. Since this reconnection, the Ukelele and Celtic Harp have found their way into the musical landscape, supporting the original songs which seem to flow effortlessly now, fuelled by her true inspiration…. That is: sharing her love of voice and song to create a musical sanctuary, to connect us with others, provide refuge from the busi-ness of our everyday lives, quieten the mind and leave us with a deep sense of peace & joy.
Kate is also a Yoga Chi Gung teacher and Zenthai Shiatsu Therapist & Facilitator with a background in martial arts and dance. With two decades experience teaching, she loves sharing these healing arts with the community through treatments, classes and workshops, with the vision that through music and healing touch we can all experience greater wellbeing in our lives.
…and meet our special guests!

Allison Davies
Alli is a former Neurologic Music Therapist who stepped out of the allied health system after 16 years, and now focuses on enacting societal change by dismantling harmful musical myths. She uses music and voice therapeutically, as a way of experiencing felt safety within a trauma informed and neuro affirming framework.
Alli is an autistic person with attention, sensory processing and executive functioning differences. She works within a neuro-affirming framework that favours acceptance and regulation over assimilation and intervention, and shares her lived experience of autism openly within her workshops and conferences as part of her ‘emotive storytelling mixed with science’ approach to education.
Alli was a recipient of the Telstra Best of Business Awards, Tasmanian winner, 2024 and is a regular contributor to online network ParentTV, and radio station ‘Vision Australia’. She lives in the rainforest of Lutruwita and pays her deepest respect to the oldest continuing culture in the world, acknowledging that sovereignty of these lands, waterways and culture was never ceded.
Lou Van Stone
Celestial soprano, multi-instrumentalist and composer Lou Van Stone deeply moves audiences worldwide with her soaring, ethereal voice with a five octave range.
Lou has a Music Degree from Southern Cross University and is a graduate of the N.R. Conservatorium. She has studied at The Royal College Of Music in London and with leading soprano, Jane Edwards in Sydney and renowned Jazz Singer Kerrie Biddell.
Lou performs regularly at festivals Australia-wide and overseas in Italy, France and the UK. The versatility of Lou’s unique sound means that she embraces several genres. From operatic arias, musical theatre and jazz to blissful, meditative soundscapes, luscious live looping sets and euphoric dance anthems. Lou is signed to three dance music labels and continues to create moving, original music, that is showcased in her live performances.
Both sound priestess and shaman, Lou channels divine music from deep in the earth and high in the heavens. This transcends singing, it’s sonic surgery, penetrating deep into your cells, leaving them vibrating with light. Prepare to be transported to another dimension
Eileen Hartley
Born 1958, Albury, NSW, Australia, where I went to school, began working in a bank, met my husband and had three children. At 30 we moved to West Wyalong, NSW, for 6 years, where I worked as a Home Care Aide to the the elderly. A move to my current home of Morayfield Queensland, where I found and fell in love with yoga.
It began with yoga at home with yoga books and videos borrowed from the library (this was before internet and Google). I knew this was the answer for a way to heal my body and so joined a local gym and experienced my first yoga class. For 5 years I attended 4-5 classes a week.
My first teacher, Jo Moore of Yoga Rythyms, encouraged me to enter teacher training with her. So I quit my job, as a cleaner and began this incredible journey of self-discovery in January of 2007. As soon as I graduated, I began sharing the benefits I had experienced to others, by teaching at a couple of gyms and filling in for other teachers as often as I could.
Roll on to 2022, I teach 6 regular classes a week.
My classes are a mix of movement, mindfullness, breath awareness and stillness. I offer options because I remember at time when I couldn’t do some poses, and my wish is to make yoga available to others too.
